Tips for cleaning your bedroom

In our previous post, we talked about decorating the bedroom. In such a private and generally separated space- lighting, furniture and decor reflect the occupant in a way that other rooms don’t. A space this personal also needs to be cleaned differently than others. Beds, and the surrounding areas as well as surfaces like dressers and nightstands offer a unique cleaning arena in your home.

The Ceiling

In most rooms, we’ll recommend starting with the highest reachable surface. This because anything that falls will land on whatever surface you may have otherwise stared with. In a room like the bedroom where fans run more than most other spaces- the fan can accumulate dust and pet fur faster than anything else in the house. Start by dusting the ceiling, light fixtures and fan blades.

Wipe every surface clean

In your bedroom are a lot of surfaces: tabletops, cabinets, drawers, a chair, your make-up kit, a display cabinet: you name it. And that too can be a source of accumulated dirt from the outside and even internally. To start wiping off the surface of these objects, you need to be prepared with two types of rags: one that is dry and one that is damp. For objects that can be wiped wet and have accumulated dirt, use the damp one to collect the dust away from those objects. Then, for objects that might need a light brush-off, you can use the dry rag to clean the objects.
Please take note that there are other wiping techniques you can employ, including using isopropyl alcohol for surfaces you use the most, including the table top or your study desk in
accordance with sanitary standards.

Sweep and Mop the floors

Most of the time, when we clean the floor it’s just all about just sweeping the floor, but really it’s also about cleaning it to discourage unwanted creature visitors. Aside from the dust accumulated, some of the things that you might have missed and are considered foreign materials include crumbs from the food you ate, spilled drinks you haven’t noticed, textile fragments from clothes and your bedsheets, scraps of paper and plastic from office or grocery: among other things.

The simplest way to start your bedroom cleaning is through sweeping the floor with a broom. Start off first with the corners and then make your way out to the door where you have a dust scooper to collect the swept dust. If the sweeping isn’t enough, you can opt out for a hand-held vacuum cleaner to collect from nooks and crannies of your bedroom. And we haven’t settled yet, preparing for the mopping process, with choosing the perfect soap- water solution that not just smells nice but also allows us to properly clean the floor. To mop the floor, start with the farthest part to the part near your door. That way, there’s an even clean of the floor.

Housekeeping Tips to Make Your Bedroom Cozy

As we have pointed out in our previous blogs, the bedroom is one of the most important components of the common household. Aside from being a place to rest, the bedroom is the most personal space fin a home. This is where most of us feel safest and most relaxed. The bedroom should be a suitable space for whatever is going on in life- a bedroom must be flexible enough for multiple uses and reflect our personality.

To help with the common housekeeping tips for your cozy bedroom setup, here are our hacks we can impart to you to help spice up that dull bedroom of
yours!

All things in moderation

Decorating often begins with decluttering. Not necessarily minimization- but simply knowing what needs to be in a space and what does not. Doing this first will make it much easier to establish a theme and color palette as you plan for redecoration. This space is supposed to be a reflection of you- but keep in mind that moderation will be why the bedroom is a safe and calming space. Take care to know what you want from your space while you sleep and awake.

The wall-attachment color relationship

There are so many ways to decorate the walls of a bedroom. You can commemorate relationships, families and memories. You can decorate with helpful reminders. and inspiring quotes. Art, mirrors and lighting are all options available to you as you cater the space to your mood and personality. Since walls and floors usually stat out as neutral colors, decide on decor that compliments those natural tones. Or you can set that tone with an accent wall. It is completely up to you! You don’t even need to paint anymore to create an accent wall. You can choose from vinyl wraps(the modern day wallpaper) panels and lighting to create an accent wall in a flash!

Light it away!

Speaking of lighting. The avenues renters and owners can add personality and uniqueness to a space using lighting have expanded significantly. Not long ago, all we had to choose from were soft and harsher lights- warm and cool. Now you can choose your very own color and lighting effects! Smart bulbs you can add to almost any lamp, RGB strips and ropes for backlighting and accessorizing have taken over home decor.

Want to spell your family name on the wall with lights? You can do it. Want to backlight your bedroom furniture with colors you can change at will? You can do that, too. Adjust the mood of a room in an instant with a remote or from an app. With so many cost effective options to choose from- there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to add some flare and drama to your space.

Utilize relaxing scents

To make your bedroom more cozy, it also needs some preparation not just aesthetically visual but also olfactory. Aside from cleaning up the place, you can also douse some good scent to balance the air around your bedroom, and make sure it is controlled as to not suffocate. While most people opt out for the common room spray, there are more modern ways to scent up the place, such as putting essential oils to your humidifier or lighting up some scented candles. Or if you are feeling fancy, light up some floral incense sticks?

To sum this up, making a cozy bedroom is all about having the bedroom stand out like having its own personality. And our cleaning group Go2Girls can help you prep up that cozy bedroom of yours, tidy it up, and help yourself be more comfortable and satisfied with your own personal space!
